Whitewater slalom is a very expensive sport. As a 26 year old, I have to balance my athletic goals with advancing a career and paying the bills. All the costs and responsibilities of adult life don't limit my passion or my goals, but they do create a practical disadvantage when I am racing against younger athletes who can afford to take time off school to train, and who have parents that are able to pay for their training and equipment.

Race fees, water time, gas, gear, and hotel stays add up quickly. I work hard to lower these costs by driving through the night instead of flying, working to arrange homestays, and carpooling.

If you are interested in helping to support my training, it would be greatly appreciated. The Missouri Whitewater Association accepts donations to a training fund on my behalf.
